UKTI Vacancy: Northern Powerhouse Life Sciences Specialist

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Investment Group (IG) is creating a new team of specialists to work across the North to drive foreign direct investment into the region. UKTI’s goal is to support the wider rebalancing of the UK economy by attracting high-value (capital investment projects typically on the scale of ten million pounds and/or creating 30 new jobs in the UK)  investment opportunities from around the world that align with the primary economic capabilities of the North.
This specialist role will lead on the Life Sciences sector offer for the North, preferably with demonstrable strengths selling the pharmaceutical and biopharma manufacturing subsector.
The specialist will work closely with UKTI’s local partners’ team, the global value chain team and the existing sector team within a target driven environment to bring in additional business to the North. Core functions include international deal-making for inward investment and trade (deal identification, conversion, and closure), building client and sector relationships at a very senior level, representing the Northern life sciences brand in the UK and overseas, particularly to overseas clients/customers/collaborators, and enhancing UK policy development through global intelligence and feedback from industry.
