Research Assistant/Associate (Microfluidics for Osteoarthritis Tissue Models)

£27,285 to £28,936 (without awarded PhD)
£29,799 to £38,833  (PhD awarded/equivalent experience)
You will undertake research as part of an NC3Rs funded project which will develop high throughput micro-tissue based models of osteoarthritis, with the micro-tissue models developed using cell printing techniques. You will work as part of an inter-disciplinary team, and will focus specifically on addressing the engineering challenges of developing a high throughput system, primarily through the design and development of microfluidic systems to miniaturise the cell based assays which will be developed by research partners within the project.
You will have a relevant engineering or science first degree, and a PhD (awarded or nearing completion (or significant recent industrial experience in additive manufacture and polymer processing (award required for appointment at Associate level), and experience of microfluidics, additive manufacture, or polymer processing and characterisation.
The post is available fixed term for 2 years and is full time. The closing date for applications is 22nd January 2018.
