Re-Distributed Manufacturing Scoping

EPSRC and ESRC would like to invite applications to participate in a workshop to help scope the definition of, and research opportunities around, the theme of Re-Distributed Manufacturing to be held on Thursday 7 November to early afternoon on Friday 8 November 2013.
Re-Distributed Manufacturing relates to on-demand and local manufacturing which is close to markets and/or material sources. There are a range of potential challenges around this research interest which may include but are not limited to: manufacturing equipment, ICT capabilities, manufacturing process, manufacturing strategy, business models, and workforce skills.
The workshop will be a two day event which aims to encourage discussion between a diverse range of research interests to define Re-Distributed Manufacturing, explore current and potential research areas and identify approaches for future programmes of work.
Places will be limited so if you are interested in participating in this workshop please complete the Expression of Interest form (opens PDF file) and return it to ReDistributedManufacturing@epsrc.ac.uk by 12:00 noon on 1 October 2013. Submission of an Expression of Interest will be taken to mean availability for this date and a commitment to attend if selected.
