Combined Bath Biomechanics and Regenerative Medicine Symposium

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the University of Bath, the Centre for Orthopaedic Biomechanics and the Centre for Regenerative Medicine will be jointly hosting a two day symposium and will focus on “50 YEARS OF MUSCULOSKELETAL RESEARCH – Lessons learned and future perspectives”.
 
Day 1: 12th Sept hosted by the Centre for Orthopaedic Biomechanics, four invited keynote speakers will cover aspects of orthopaedic research, the role of the surgeon, changing patient demographics and new technologies and the evolving world of scientific publication.
 
Day 2: 13th Sept hosted by the Centre for Regenerative Medicine, we have two confirmed keynote speakers who will speak on tendon repair techniques and electrical bioreactor development and regulation of cartilage and bone homeostasis in development and disease. Two further keynote speakers will be confirmed.
 
 
CALL FOR PAPERS
Submissions are invited, from researchers and clinicians, which address any relevant musculo-skeletal research topics including any lessons learned from history. A change in the format this year will be that the sessions before lunch on both days will be devoted to “Three Minute Poster Pitches” to encourage PhD students and other researchers to submit posters to be viewed during the lunch and coffee breaks. The format for these poster pitches will be a maximum of three slides to give an overview of the poster.
