Call for submissions: Funding for Feasibility Studies

Call for submissions: Funding for Feasibility Studies

April 11, 2016

The IKC is offering three university-based researchers a chance to have a feasibility study funded (up to £10,000 FEC per study) and supported by professionals in research translation.  It is quick and easy to enter: just enter brief details about your idea on our online form, and let our panel of evaluators confidentially rank your ideas to arrive at three winners.  The evaluators will be using crowdsourcing software.
The winners will be announced at the Regener8-IKC’s Annual Conference on 1st July 2016, and the feasibility studies should start by 31st December 2016.
Can I apply?
The competition is open to all university-based researchers (academics, early-career researchers, PDRAs etc) and companies may apply in partnership with an academic lead.
Ideas must be within the IKC’s scope of regenerative devices, more specifically:
• directly implanted regenerative devices, including scaffolds, biomaterials and devices which deliver tissue repair and regeneration.
• enabling technologies, including enhanced simulation methods for design, development and pre-clinical evaluation providing evidence of safety and efficacy at the pre-clinical stage, thus reducing the need for phase 1 and 2 clinical trials and reducing the risk, cost and time in product development.
• companion technologies, including aspects of advanced imaging and diagnostics to determine the disease state of the patient and the patient response to treatment; these will address advanced diagnostics for stratified and personalised interventions and technologies to enhance precision of surgical delivery.
How do I apply?
Visit the Medical Technologies IKC website for full guidelines and how to apply. The competition closing date is 31 May 2016 (5.30pm).
